Anti- software detects, blocks and removes malware. It includes anti-virus and anti-spyware tools.
Anti-virus software scans files against a database of known malware signatures and watches for suspicious behaviour, quarantining or deleting anything it finds. Anti-spyware specifically detects and removes software that secretly monitors the user. Anti-malware must be kept up to date so it can recognise newly released threats, and it usually runs scans both automatically in the background and on demand.
